Groomsmen

David Feeney

Groomsman

Friend of the Groom

Feeney and I grew up as neighbors living less that 30 yards from one another. I don’t remember meeting him. We hung out in elementary school and then in middle school he was too cool for me. We rekindled our friendship in high school on the lacrosse team and have remained very close ever since. He is a great friend. We joke around a lot and at times can finish one another’s sentences with movie lines. Dave is one of those people I don’t need to worry about losing touch with because when reunited it’s as if we never skipped a beat. Dave has a subtle sense of humor that can leave anyone in tears.

Patrick Maddock

Groomsman

Cousin of the Groom

My cousin Pat is both very funny and very real. As kids we spent our summer vacations together. I would go to Long Island and surf with him for a week, then he would come to NJ and BMX for a week. During every family event we always knew a weekend visit could turn into extra days. As kids when our parents would say “we are going to leave in a few minutes,” we knew we had at least three hours to hang out. We would grab our surfboards and come back about two hours later; no one even knew we were gone. Pat is also the reason I know so many stupid jokes.

Sean Manahan

Groomsman

Friend of the Groom

Sean Manahan and I became friends in high school after sitting next to one another in Earth Science class but became quite close after high school. I’m not exactly sure what sparked it, but I am very grateful for it. We have taken many road trips together to visit friends or just get out of dodge. One summer Sean and I planned a large camping trip to Saranac Lake. Before the trip he broke his foot but that did not dampen his spirits at all (that is the type of person Sean is). Sean has always been a good and loyal friend who also knows my family quite well. One time during a family reunion Sean came over and identified himself as “cousin Sean.”

Ethan Marsh

Best Man

Friend of the Groom

Ethan and I have been friends since we were toddlers. His house was my second home growing up. We have always remained close and have evolved together from toddlers to young adults. Riding around on our bikes as kids, running around on the lacrosse field in high school, backpacking through Europe after college and finally living just a few miles from one another in Virginia we have somehow figured out a way not to kill each other. We spend most of our time laughing and giving one another a hard time. Ethan is a great friend and has more dirt on me than anyone else on the planet.

Richard Moutoux

Groomsman

Friend of the Groom

Richie and I met in college on the wrestling team. When I first met him I would not have guessed that he was a closet genius who was a top engineering student. We lived together for two years and became quite close. Since then we spend a lot of time goofing around together, camping and having fun in the outdoors. Richie has turned me on to the fruitfulness of the country life style. Richie is a loyal friend. I have remained close to him and his family.

Dan Murphy

Groomsman

Friend of the Groom

Dan and I have known each other since 1997 during the era of our infamous Saranac trips. We have become rather tight since then and even closer since I moved from Colorado to DC. Over the years I have learned one indisputable fact, Dan cares tremendously about his friends. Dan and I can sit there and quote movie lines all day long and not get bored. He is a true friend and really cares about people. Dan is very quick and very witty. He is the one of the few people who gets my sense of humor and never gets sick of movie trivia.

Matt Ounsworth

Groomsman

Friend of the Groom

Matt and I met in 1998 while on the UVA wrestling team. We trained together, and socialized together. When we were not wrestling we spent our time in the great outdoors mountain biking, climbing, cliff jumping, hiking etc... A few years later we moved to Colorado together where he braved living with Margaret and me. We spent every non-working moment in the outdoors on our bikes, with a snowboard, or on a rock wall. I think Margaret got a sense of how crazy we were when Matt pushed my buttons one day in our apartment, I threw my spaghetti dinner at him and a wrestling match broke out in the living room almost killing Margaret as an innocent bystander.

John Tyler Price

Head Usher

Brother of the Bride

Tyler had it rough as a kid. Not only was he my first brother, but his arrival meant that Mary finally had someone to pick on! We used to dress Tyler up in our girl clothes and put perfume and makeup on him. And when we were babysitting and he wouldn’t eat his vegetables we would plug his nose until he had to open his mouth to breath and push the food into his mouth. Now, he’s a 6’4” grown man living on his own in Idaho, so I’d hate to think what he would do to me if I tried to pick on him now. I can’t help but believe that all of this torture is what turned him into such a kind, driven, and loving guy. It’s nice to finally have a grown man to talk to about life (besides Kevin of course!) to vent frustrations to and discuss our dreams. Tyler has always exhibited wisdom far beyond his years, and I can’t wait to see where life takes him after college.

Thomas Price

Head Usher

Brother of the Bride

Thomas is the youngest in our family—he has always stolen the spotlight with his adorable smile and goofy sense of humor. From his Elvis impersonations to his baked bean commercial recitations, he lights up the room when he is around. Tommy is also a walking trivia book when it comes to sports and some history—how embarrassing is it on the day when you realize that your kid brother is far smarter than you? The most amazing characteristic about Thomas is his willingness to do absolutely anything for anybody. If you ask him to help you out he will be there in a heartbeat without complaining. Although sometimes us sisters can abuse this charity by making him our cabana boy at the beach, for example, we are grateful to have such a kind and generous brother. I can’t wait for him to finish up at boarding school so we can spend more time together again!

Roger Sullivan, Jr.

Best Man

Brother of the Groom

My older brother has always inspired me. He has always been there for me from teaching me how to wrestle (which entailed beating me up as a kid when my parents weren’t home) to challenging me on the bike to correcting me when I did something wrong. Roger has always helped me out when I needed it. When it comes to taking a big trip, he’s my partner in crime; be it snowboarding, surfing or any challenge, Roger is always ready to roll. He is also a great role model demonstrating what a good father, friend and human being should be.

Roger Sullivan, Sr.

Best Man

Father of the Groom

It’s scary when you find yourself turning into your parents but I am glad my dad has rubbed off on me. I think the day my dad went from authority figure to friend was on our many trips to visit colleges back in the spring of 1996 while listening to Tom Petty and the Beatles. When I need advice, I usually call my dad. When we get together we always have a good time. If I can become half the man he is, I will consider myself lucky.
