Bride's Attendants

Tara Brewer

Bridesmaid

Friend of the Bride

Brewer or Brew-dog was the cool girl on our hall freshman year. She knew everyone and always knew where the action was! If it weren’t for her crazy roommate she may never have ventured down to our end of the hall to find friends! Tara and I pledged our sorority together a month later—something that we both swore we would never do. But this experience brought us closer together as we braved secret handshakes, cheesy mixers, and blind dates on formals with soccer boys. Tara taught me that it’s possible to have fun and get good grades at the same time. When we lived together our second year she would always bring wrestlers over, my first introduction to this world of muscular men! Tara is a sincere and dedicated friend. Living out in Colorado with her was a blast—she loves life and always pushes me to live a little more on the edge!

Hilary Goulet

Bridesmaid

Friend of the Bride

“Hilly” is my oldest friend—we were friends before we even knew what a friend was! I loved playing with her so much that her mother once said that I ran to her house naked and asked for Hilary to play! Hilary was always tall, making me look short in comparison—her grandfather called us Mutt and Jeff. Over the years we have done so much—dressed up for Halloween, entered art contests, built forts, had a mystery club, skated at the Rink, took family camping trips, went to summer camp, and learned to ski! I have always looked up to Hilary and admired her for her strong sense of self, patience, and thoughtfulness as a friend. Though we never ended up sharing our row house and bulldog in Georgetown as we imagined, it is awesome to witness one another marrying and starting our own families! Oh, and did I forget to mention that Hilary is an amazing dancer? Unfortunately that never rubbed off on me…

My-Van Nguyen

Bridesmaid

Friend of the Bride

Meevs and I met my first year when I was selected to join the Virginia Belles, a female a cappella group. Three semesters later we led the group together, and through taking late night trips to Kinkos, wearing saran wrap at the beach, hanging out at the bay, recording a CD, hanging out with the male groups, and traveling in the “motherload” to Nashville, we became life long friends. My-Van and I share a passion for music that not only brought us together but enables us to truly understand its significance in the other’s life. I think we have only grown closer since college, as we have struggled to leave the Belles behind and find new ways to experience music. We constantly joke about being each others’ #2 friend, but Meevs is truly the best kind of friend that anyone could hope for—she is selfless, giving, and tons of fun.

Megan O'Donohue

Bridesmaid

Friend of the Bride

Megan and I quickly became friends in elementary school through playing soccer. We spent season after season developing not only our soccer skills, but also our abilities to whistle through a piece of grass and create a bird call with our fists. It was on the field that we developed our nicknames for each other—Migs and Mags—since we were often mistakened for twins with matching ponytails and uniforms. By high school we had become great friends, and stood by each other through a series of questionable boyfriends, cheesy dances, yearbook chaos, and yet more soccer. Now that we are dating guys who are best friends I see a lot of Megan, and we have been having as much fun together as adults as we did as kids. She is a caring and thoughtful friend and helps me to loosen up and live a little!

Lissa Percopo

Maid of Honor

Friend of the Bride

I experienced little ethnic diversity growing up in Loudoun, so when I got a letter from UVA stating that my roommate would be “Lissa Percopo” I thought she was a foreigner! Turns out that there are just a few more Italians up in NJ than down in VA. Lissa and I lived together for three of four years at UVA and were inseparable—it was only during the year we were apart that I had the opportunity to meet Kevin! She tried to teach me how to dance; I tried to teach her how to sing. We both spent more time hanging out with guys than girls. Together we somehow found the right balance between studying and socializing. Lissa was voted “Most Fabulous” when we lived together on the Lawn, and I think this word describes her perfectly. She always has it together, and inspires me everyday to push myself to achieve my full potential. Lissa is smart, tough, and extremely loyal—she still helps me edit all of my papers!

Diana Price

Bridesmaid

Sister of the Bride

Diana is my youngest sister, though you might not guess that by looking at us! Somehow she went from a chubby, smiling little girl to a woman overnight—am I really that old? Dad has always called Diana and I the “Precocious Price Girls” but I am not sure that this is a compliment, for it seems we both used our early energies to terrorize our parents by getting into absolutely everything…. However I can confidently say that those days are over, and Diana is now a headstrong, beautiful young woman who will soon be ready to go to college and take on the world. She is extremely perceptive and a great listener, making her a great sounding board despite our age difference. I enjoy signing her out of her fifth period class early (she doesn’t seem to mind) just to have a few minutes of her time to talk during lunch!

Mary Darden Price

Maid of Honor

Sister of the Bride

Mary is my younger sister and I always loved reminding her of this when we were kids—I’m older by 2 years, 1 month, 2 days, 7 hours, and 25 minutes! We spent our childhood putting on plays, building dollhouses, running lemonade stands, and playing house when we weren’t fighting with one another and constantly competing. Yet being younger has not stopped Mary from holding her own and becoming an absolutely amazing woman. She has a quiet confidence, sincere dedication to her friends and family, and a mental toughness that constantly make me in awe of her. And we both love to be social like our mom! I will never have another friend quite like Mary because through experiencing many ups and downs together over the years, we have formed a special bond that is irreplaceable. She is a truly amazing sister and friend. OK, so we still can’t play board games together and be civil…

Allison Sullivan

Flower Girl

Niece of the Groom

Daughter of Roger C Sullivan. Allison is a dare devil just like her father. She lives in Florida, is an honor roll student, and loves soccer, diving, surfing and skate boarding. Allison is a lot of fun to be around. Her addition to the Sullivan Family in the summer of 1998 was perfect. She is kind and courteous and has a younger sister named Katie whom she takes great care of.

Katherine Sullivan

Flower Girl

Niece of the Groom

Daughter of Roger C Sullivan. Katie is an energetic, bubbly girl with an innocent smile, but don’t let her façade fool you—she is the best Rummy 500 card player I’ve ever seen and can out play most of the boys in soccer. Katie is fun to be around and her older sister takes good care of her. It has been a joy being her uncle.

Kathleen Sullivan

Bridesmaid

Sister of the Groom

My sister Kathleen is one of the most selfless people I know. She has taught me a great deal over the years. Kathleen and I started a tradition over ten years ago that we would do our Christmas shopping together every Christmas Eve. It has been difficult in recent years but we still make an effort. Kathleen will make every attempt to make everyone around her feel comfortable. Everyone always says to me “I love your sister, she is great.” Kathleen loves to smile, loves to travel and is one of the greatest people on the planet. The world would be a lot better if there were more of her around.

Jacquelyn Swann

Bridesmaid

Friend of the Bride

Jackie and I met the summer before we started high school. We were both stuck in the boonies and quickly became friends through our love of singing country music. Over the next several years Jackie and I became close friends as we experienced the ups and downs of high school together—working on science fair projects, running for class council, meeting guys, and sometimes getting into trouble. We braved the back roads of Loudoun, summer trips to the Pine Ridge Reservation in South Dakota, and fish net stockings for our high school theatrical debut. We even shared a boyfriend who we won’t name…. Jackie has always been a source of laughter and of comfort—I can talk to her about anything and despite not seeing one another consistently over the years, we can always pick up where we left off. She is an amazing friend, and really helped me find myself as a person.
